At the completion of your scan, you will be given a comprehensive results sheet outlining over 40 parameters. Your Certified InBody Operator will explain and discuss your results and answer any questions you may have about your body composition. This is yours to keep and you can also track your results through the InBody App.
how do i prepare for my inbody scan?
Your InBody Scan is best completed fasted, with your body as close to a rested state as possible. For these reasons, it is advised to complete your scan in the morning, if possible. Please also follow these guidelines:
- Ensure you are well hydrated in the days leading up to your scan
- Refrain from eating/drinking 3-4hrs prior (water is ok)
- Do not participate in excessive physical activity 6hrs prior
- Wear comfortable clothing, avoiding compression items
- Remove heavy jewellery/watches/ belts
How does the inbody 570 compare to other devices?
The InBody 570 determines your body composition using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). BIA has been around for a number of years and had a somewhat 'bad' reputation due to limitations it faced in the earlier stages of its development. Due to shortcomings in technology, BIA devices were initially using empirical estimations (age/height/gender) to improve their accuracy through prediction equations. These scans do not provide an individual assessment - the individual is 'mapped' against a database to yield appropriate 'average' results based on their age/ height/ gender. An easy and quick way to check whether your body composition device is using empirical estimations is to complete multiple scans and change your age, height and gender.
Your body composition should remain the same across all scans despite these variables changing, as your body itself has not changed. If the results are different, this shows the device is using prediction equations and not actually producing an individual assessment.
Through technological advancements, InBody has succeeded in becoming the only BIA device that uses no empirical estimations and measures your body entirely based on impedance, meaning your measurements are specific to you.
The InBody 570 is a medical grade piece of equipment and has a 98% correlation to DEXA, with 99% reproducibility - proving it is by far the most accurate and reliable device on the market.
